Loi Krathong Festival - Dinner and Festival

Loi Krathong Festival should be a great way to experience Thai culture.  Saturday, Nov. 24th is the opening of the ceremony that lasts until the 28th.

I have made a reservations at 8 pm for 10 at Khinlom Chomsaphan Restaurant.  It's an outdoor seafood restaurant overlooking the beautiful Rama VIII Bridge.

If you sign up, please come.  It's going to be busy and I don't want a half empty table.   I have yet to experience Loi Krathong, but I'm thinking we will be able to walk around and see lots of sights.  There might even be fireworks.

I moved the time back to make it a little easier for everyone.  It may be difficult to find.  I'm planning on going by taxi from Victory Monument at 7pm.  Again, the reservation is for 8pm.

If you have any questions, post them here or give me a call[masked]

I was a bit nervous with the rain and protests, but everything worked out great.

John, I like to join you in going there by taxi. Easier for me. Where in Victory Monument can I meet you?

Lets meet at McDonald's in Center One next to Victory Monument. I think that would be easiest. Meet at 6:50. Send me your phone number in case anything changes.

Ok, I've talked with a number of Thai people and they say that Loi Krathong is really only on the 28th. I had read that Loi Krathong ran from the 24th through the 28th. So, there may not be any festivities. If that is the case, we will still be having dinner at a great restaurant near the beautiful Rama VII Bridge.

Here is a link to the information I found about Loi Krathong which states the dates from the 24th - 28th.

Anyways, if you have any questions feel free to call. I'll see you all at the restaurant.

It explains why you proposed to have it on Saturday when in the calendar Loi Krathong Day is on the 28th of November. I was thinking yesterday of posting a message here that Loi Krathong is celebrated only for one day. I had been to Rama VII two years ago during the Loi Krathong, indeed many people were there. A boat offered a short ride for a fee of 20 baht, just to bring the passengers at the middle of the river. Would it be possible to move the dinner on Wednesday instead of Saturday?

I think Saturday would still be best as most people might not want to come in the middle of a school week.

I could be coming with six or seven other people.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
