Hi book groupies,
I'm pleased to hear that one of our members, Phyllis C., recently started a new reading group in Forest Hills. It's not a book group like ours, where everyone reads the book ahead of time. Rather, people will take turns reading the book out loud during the gathering. A link to the group's meetup page and a description are below. Ask Phyllis if you have any questions. (You can contact her via her meetup's home page.)
Karen, FH Book Group coordinator
This group was started to bring people ages 40+ together who share an interest in reading classic literature (out loud) and, more particularly, short stories, although we can expand to other genres. The group will meet in Forest Hills in a member's apartment. We will meet monthly (or bi-monthly) depending on what members would like. No purchasing of books is required, nor is reading anything in advance. Rather we will pass the book around as we read. We will read the story and then discuss it while enjoying the various snacks that members bring.
The hosts will provide cold (non alcoholic) beverages. Guest are welcome to bring foods of their own choosing or a bottle of wine, etc.
