Jan. poll up, Dec. RSVPs open, plus supporting "my" charity and friend looking for Queens apt. share

Hello book groupies,

I’ve just posted the poll for our January book, which we’ll discuss on Wednesday, January 28: http://www.meetup.com/Forest-Hills-Book-Group/polls/. It will close on November 30. Brief descriptions of the titles under consideration can also be found at http://www.meetup.com/Forest-Hills-Book-Group/files/.

RSVPs are open for our December 17 meeting, when we’ll discuss An Invisible Thread: The True Story of an 11-Year-Old Panhandler, a Busy Sales Executive, and an Unlikely Meeting with Destiny by Laura Schroff and Alex Tresniowski: http://www.meetup.com/Forest-Hills-Book-Group/. Please remember that a Yes RSVP means you intend to be there. If you are unsure, please do not respond until know you are free that day and will have time to read the book. Thanks for your consideration.

And two non-book group notes:

1) I am raising money for an organization with which I volunteer, God’s Love We Deliver, by participating in the Race to Deliver this weekend. It is an amazing charity that feeds thousands of New Yorkers who are too ill to cook for themselves (and despite the name, it is not affiliated with any religion). If you’d like to contribute to their work, you can do so on-line at https://www.glwd.org/race/runner.jsp?id=6754 or give me a check made out to God’s Love We Deliver whenever you see me next.

2) My friend Justin, a single man in his late 20s, is looking for an apartment share situation starting in January, preferably in Sunnyside, Woodside, or Jackson Heights. He’s a serious runner and all-around respectful guy who always pays his rent on time. If you know of anyone seeking a roommate, let me know and I’ll give you his email.
