If you don't live in the Forest Park area here's a perfect chance to find out what's happening in our village. Every year at the beginning of the holiday season the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce holds a holiday walk along Madison St. You can look forward to 'Live' holiday windows, Santa's reindeer, horse-drawn sleigh rides, merchant's open house, photos with Santa, Christmas tree lighting, caroling and a marshmallow roast.
Its a fun evening with everyone out and about. All of the stores are open with many of them handing out free cookies, hot chocolate, or hot cider.
One of the highlights of the evening are the live holiday window displays the businesses put on that everyone gets to vote on. So plan on coming out for a relaxed walk along Madison St. and kicking off your holiday season with some fun. After the walk we'll meet at Fatduck Tavern to continue the holiday cheer with a drink or two and maybe something to eat.
We'll meet up outside my house where there's plenty of parking on the street and we'll be away from the congestion on Madison St.
If you've enjoyed our walks this year and want to show your appreciation for the work our event hosts and organizers have done, please bring a can good or non-perishable food item. All food will be donated to local food pantries in the name of the Forest Park Walking Group to help others during the holiday season.
