10 Reasons Why Your Business Blog Probably Sucks (+ how to fix) - Noon 4/16 - $5

Why isn’t anyone commenting on my blog? Is this thing even on? What should I write about? I know I only post every three months or so, but why isn’t anyone visiting my site to see what’s new?

Keeping an updated, interesting business blog can be frustrating, ball-breaking, time-wasting, energy-sucking, lifeforce-draining…you get the picture. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In this two-part series, led by local writer and editor Molly McCowan, of Inkbot Editing, we will go over some of the reasons why your blog probably sucks – and how to make it a hell of a lot better.

What we’ll be covering specifically:

  • Do you really need a business blog?
  • If so, should you be writing it?
  • What is content marketing? Why does it matter?
  • The three Cardinal rules of blogging
  • How to find the right frequency to post
  • How to research your audience
  • How to keep your audience’s attention

The cost for this meetup is $5 (payments in advance, please).

Feel free to submit your own ideas for future topics and let me know if you have any questions!

I wrote a blog post about today's presentation (fittingly), and included the link to the actual Prezi presentation in case you'd like to review it or share it with a colleague. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it today! http://inkbotediting.com/2013/0...

My blog is www.garyclarkc21.wordpress.com which is about real estate. I want to educate and inspire people about selling, buying and investing. I'm wanting to build an audience and tie together other social media platforms.

If you have a specific need or question that you would like me to address during this Meetup, please comment here and I'll do my best to cover it in our discussion. Be sure to include what type of business you're in, and if you already have a blog or are just thinking about launching one. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!

We have had a website on food allergies for a couple of years and added a blog to the site a few months ago. For the blog, the target is those with food allergies and gluten/food intolerance and also parents of children with food allergies. Our website also targets restaurants and teachers, but we don't currently target in blog. http://www.allergyfre...
