March WordPress meetup - The Loop

The Loop is PHP code used by WordPress to display posts. Using The Loop, WordPress processes each post to be displayed on the current page, and formats it according to how it matches specified criteria within The Loop tags.

What does this mean for us? I'll show you how I take advantage of the loop when I'm building or customizing themes, and how you can do the same.

Michael will be presenting.

Thank you SO MUCH for all of your feedback on SEO for I spent Thursday and Friday making the changes you suggested, and now we are #1 for the keyword chiropractor Olathe! Wow! Thanks again!

Good meetup. A couple of comments:

--Google "authorship" simply requires that you notify Google that your Google+ account is associated with your blog. While some themes will automatically insert the author's name, just manually typing a byline works just as well. Just use the exact same name as in your G+ account.

--"Bounce" is not necessarily a good indicator of SEO efforts. My two most popular pages rank 1-2 on Google SERP, but have a 95% bounce rate in Google Analytics. I suspect that time on page is more important. Likewise, while a "sticky" site has advantages for the owner, from a user perspective, a well-designed site that rapidly leads to the required information is more likely to generate repeat traffic, even though the bounce rate might seem high.

There are a couple of options with Google authorship:

Option 1: Link your content to your Google+ profile using a verified email address Option 2: Set up authorship by linking your content to your Google+ profile

Really sad to miss out on this one. I'm solo parent for the week.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
