Love to board
There is a practice Saturday. If you want to attend let me know so I can put you in touch with another member -- I will be racing this weekend and won't be there.
I see you are in a shooting club. I just started doing some of that not long ago. Where do you shoot?
Nancy, welcome to Blazing Paddles' Meetup group. It has some overlap with kayaking. In both cases, good technique allows you to use torso rotation rather than your arms to generate lasting power. Both get you on the water in a quiet, non-polluting craft. (In our case, negative pollution as we usually bring in some floating trash). The biggest differences are these -- 1) dragon boat paddling is inherently social, you are in a boat with 6-21 other people, working as a team; 2) single blade.
