You know some of the basics, but are ready to call the shots when it comes to setting your camera's functions. No more auto settings for you. This four week class begins with introducing you to Program, Aperture (Av) and Shutter (Tv) modes. How and when to use Exposure Compensation. Discussions on JPEG vs RAW. By the third week you'll be ready to learn about the Exposure Triangle of ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture. It's full Manual Mode and all the control that comes with it. This class empowers photographers with the ability to make a perfect exposure every time they shoot, and become proficient at, as well as enjoy it! Students master camera settings and the art of metering and white balance selection for proper image capture, histograms and interpreting what your camera's display is showing you.
We'll also discuss what are the lenses to take you to the next level. Controlling focus and dealing with complicated lighting situations. As well as composition principles beyond the Rules of Thirds. Throughout the 4 weeks, participants will have opportunities to experiment shooting with their new skills. The goal is for students to use their digital camera with predictable and repeatable results, and to begin to communicate with their photography instead of just taking snapshots.
