Description: Contra dancing is a type of group dancing that dates back at least to the 1600s and was brought to North America by the early settlers. It could be called "Early American Folk Dancing." It is not necessary to bring a partner, and no previous experience is required. If you can walk, you can do contra dancing. The dancing will be done to live acoustic music. Instead of continuing with a description, may we suggest that you go to YouTube.com, search for "Contra Dancing" and look at the videos. It is a lot of fun and contra dancers are among the friendliest folks around.
Price: $7. for members of the North Texas Traditional Dance Society, $9. for non-members.
