Hey Tristan. Five of us met together at the parking lot one down from the off-rode trail head (per coordinates I had confirmed with John). I knew that most were wanting to do the paved trail, so I met with them for that (sure enough, not all participants had "off-rode" ready bikes). I did, however, try out the offroad trail afterwards and really enjoyed it. I would definitely be willing to set up a meetup soon specifically for that (next Saturday is the only day I can't).
Unfortunately, my car keys fell out somewhere on the trail. I heard that someone found them, but I was never able to meet up with that person. I will be checking the DORBA site periodically, and hopefully they will show up.

I'm glad you all got to meet up:). I'm also glad you enjoyed the offroad trail, EKG wore me out this time so I only did one full circuit including all loops. I'll take that into consideration when ridingwith others. As for next weekend, I can't go either but I'll be in town the weekend after, I'd love to suggest another Meetup out there with other of road bikers.

I also hope someone shows upwith your keys, in this case it is the only time I suggest a Fanny pack. Lol. The trail can be bouncy

Despite not seeing tons of bikers at the offroad trailhead and adding around I didn't see anyone from this group. Nonetheless, I still had a good time biking

Scott, I posted the coordinates on my last post (parking lot). I am going to do trail first, then off rode trail.

I just checked the DORBA website, says 'Dry to Tacky on Fri, May 31, 2013 @ 03:16 PM' which means trail is good to ride. The dirt trail has some wonderful scenery, I hope you some of you would be willing to join.

Ok. I will be there right before 9:00 am, then. If anyone else would like to re-confirm their rsvp via message, that would be great.
John, I assume you mean these coordinates for the meeting place?[masked],[masked]
hint to others: copy the coordinates, place into google maps search area and click the search button.

I plan on riding the paved trails at river Legacy. I know two 5 mile loops we can ride at a relaxed pace. You can ride 5 to 40 miles if you want too. Their is a few large parking lots on the rear west side of the park we can meet at. I see 18 people signed up. I would like to ride and meet a few of you. I do not see the ride has been cancelled. I will be at the playground parking lot between 8:30am and 9am tomorrow. I can lead follow or stay out of the way. Just want to meet up and enjoy and nice ride with some new friends. If the organizer has the location please do post it and will meet you there . Wishing you miles of smiles.
    Cheers John T.

Is anyone still planning on going to this? There is probably also a lot of confusion as well, as the original place was moved (from trinity [ft. worth] to legacy [arlington]) and the time was changed as well.
I would definitely NOT recommend the Arlington River Legacy "off-rode" trail, as it is currently ***CLOSED*** (due to this week's rain).
--DORBA site which states the legacy trail is closed as of 5/31. http://www.dorba.org/trail.php?t=21
I will access this meetup periodically this afternoon to see if any plans solidify further. I am willing to meet anywhere on the trinity trail (around the same time (9:00 am) or maybe even around 10:00 am {suggestion: trinity park by the "mini railroad station" across from the botanical gardens??} I also don't mind going out to River Legacy **IF** there is a good backup cement trail that has a decent length to it.

Hello Group so where are we meeting in the park tomorrow?
If anyone can send the info would be great. Weather should be good for the ride. Rain is supposed to come in later that afternoon.

I ride legacy several times a week, usually mornings, pretty sure we will be there again sunday 8/7 @ 8am. We do all loops but EKG typically with extra runs on bypass loop as needed for warmup or extra miles.

Is this road bike ?? Concrete trail? If so I am in

    July 31, 2011

  • Tristan

I apologize for assuming that's what we were doing as the quote at the top states ?It's a great way to use your mountain bike without mountains!" I thought that it was going to be a mountain bike occasion. While EKG and Funtown are not recreational routes for street bikes they are great for mountain bikers. May I suggest we be more specific on meetup titles and their descriptions from now on.

    July 20, 2011

  • Teri D.

I thought this was trail riding. To do the trails you speak of you have to know where to go. EFT and Funtown are NOT recreational routes. I dont know the trails well enough to ride them alone. I will defer to the concrete trails. I think that was the intent of the post originally. Protection is a given with any ride. I cant afford to break a leg or fall down a 10 ft gully. More clear is you must be an experienced MTB rider with a bike in good contdition to do most Legacy MTB trails.

    July 19, 2011

  • Tristan

I suggested Legacy, it's got a fun mountain biking trail with 4 or 5 loops. It has two advanced areas; which, if you're not experienced, I suggest you get some protection. Tuesday at 6:30 works for me :)

Why was the location changed? We could do both..... Availability, I am available just about any day except Thursday.. so if anyboy ever wants to do an impromptu meetup, just shoot me an email.

    July 18, 2011

  • Teri D.

Legacy is great for me. I did an evening ride last week and it was much cooler...say 630 sharp to start would be a good time. This week tho I can only do tues or thurs.

Ahhh!!! OK, we'll just plan another weekend then. I live right next to the trails so anytime is good for me!

    July 13, 2011

  • Teri D.

Normally that would be good...but the 23rd I am riding the Tour de Cure for American Diabeties from the Speedway. Its a fundraiser.

    July 13, 2011

  • Kristin F.

We could do saturday the 23 and start about 8am... maybe do like 20 miles?

    July 13, 2011

  • Teri D.

5 or 10 miles is too short for the time it would take to load up and drive to Ft Worth. But if it was longer. Also what time? It will be very hot ...
