The James O. Breen Park contains a fenced in dog recreation area. Many members commented that this park is great for the dogs and has several shaded areas for people and dogs alike.

We will meet in the main parking lot and walk around the soccer field, and then let the dogs loose in the fenced in area.

The park has the following amenities:

  • 2.56 acres fenced dog park
  • doggy water fountain and water hose
  • double-gated security entrance
  • dog-friendly equipment
  • activity stations

If by "side entrance" you mean the gravel road/parking lot, on the west side of the fenced in area, it's a few hundred yards west of the main Campton Hills Road entrance, not well marked, and somewhat hidden by tall weeds and grass.I prefer using the newly paved parking lot. To reach the Nature Center, drive through the parking lot, toward the building. When you reach the building, you have to drive around the north (right) side of the building to reach the the Nature Center parking lot. The trail head is at the NW corner of the center. Nice trail signage so you always know where you are..

The building north of the fenced dog park is the Hickory Knolls Nature Center.Behind the Nature Center is a trail head , leading to loop trails that go from 1/2 to 2 miles in length

What road do we take to reach the Nature Center? I couldn't find the road for the side entrance to the dog park last time we visited.
