Have you been to drum circles before?

Yes - it's simply FUN!! Drumming with friends is one of the best things one can do! Great way to keep balance in life, restore energy. A simple rhythm can become magic and beautiful.

Do you have a drum - if not we will have some to share

Yup. Have drum(s). And to share. Can help people learn about drums and what is a good one to buy.

Do you like a little instruction or just drumming?

Newcomers can use some support. It's good to have a little help with technique, what to do in a drum circle, and occasionally have some explain and share a new rhythm or dance with the group.

Do you like facilitation for specific rhythms or a more freestyle format?

It helps to have some strong drummers hold down a basic beat and get a clear rhythm started. When that gets solid in the group people can improvise and the group's rhythm will change.

If you're an experienced drummer - do you like to sometimes lead a rhythm or dance, or facilitate?

I can help support what the group needs and requests. Each night may be different. Anyone in a circle can initiate something. It's about community and having fun together. Not a class - but sharing.

Been around music forever. Jazz clubs, impassioned dances, samba in the park, teachers from Africa. Mostly, the joy of sharing the spirit! I've heard it said - Listen and The Drum Will Teach You. Dumming is always from the heart.
