Bread and desserts - I rarely would eat desserts in the US but when dining in France, I typically will keenly eyeball the dessert menu.
Variety - one can find anything and everything in America. Probably stems from the fact that America is a sort of mixture of [the best of all :)] cultures from around the world.
Extra Sharp Cheddar - I'm originally from Wisconsin so the topic of which country has the best cheeses is certainly contested.
American on an extended vacation to Paris for a couple years.
