The annual Surrey International Children’s Festival inspires young hearts and minds to greater possibilities, and celebrates our rich and diverse cultural heritage through performing and visual arts experiences.
There are 5 performance venues:
-3 inside the Arts Centre (Main Stage Theatre, Studio Theatre and Lily Pad Stage)
-2 in Bear Creek Park (Leap Frog Stage and Community Spirit Stage).
There are hands-on arts activities inside tents, and roving performances throughout the park. It is a most unique and festive festival! A one-of-a-kind in Surrey and the surrounding area!
Who runs the Festival?
The City of Surrey is the founding sponsor of the Festival. The Festival is run by a year-round 2-person staff housed in the Surrey Arts Centre.
The staff increases to over 125 during the running of the 3-day festival. 65 performers illuminate and entertain audiences. Over 275 volunteers also support the Festival.
We are so very fortunate to be able to bring national and international professional performing artists to the Festival. Many of the shows have never toured Surrey schools, so it is a unique and exciting opportunity to see something you may not have access to otherwise.
The staff of the Surrey Children’s Festival focus on balancing curriculum-relevant content with plain, old fun in every performance programmed at the Festival.
