Is this your first time joining a meditation group?

I have been meditating with a group on an off for over a decade. I find that when I sit with a group of people my practice deepens. I enjoy groups because we get to share our victories and struggles without judgement. Leading a group helps to keep me "in practice," and I really love seeing the transformative power meditation has for others.

What do you wish to receive from your meditation practice?

Freedom from suffering, the ability to cope with stress mindfully, a deeper connection to my true self and others, compassion, health & wellness, and the heightened ability to savor life's pleasures. I don't think that is too much to ask!

Heather Stang is the author of Mindfulness & Grief, and the founder of the Frederick Meditation Center. She is also a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner, and has been helping people reduce stress and cope with grief since 2003.
