Whether you are new to meditation, or have years of experience and would like a group to sit with, come and join us. This is a donation-based group that meets Tuesday mornings at 7:30.
Here's the usual format: We take a few minutes to relax and unwind with a guided body scan meditation. Then we'll take a short break while I introduce a theme for the day's meditation, then we'll sit together for about a half hour with some guidance, but mostly silence. We are out the door by 8:30 ... carrying a relaxed and peaceful presence into the world.
The group is led by me, Adam Silcott. I've been practicing meditation for about 17 years, and I've trained with Tara Brach, Johnathan Faust, and Bhante Gunaratana.
We meet at the Center for Mind-Body Therapies at 5N Bentz St, in downtown Frederick. It's a very pleasant space with some big comfy chairs and plenty of folding chairs. If you prefer sitting on the floor, feel free to bring your cushion.
If there is interest, we may expand to other mornings. My vision is to create a support for meditation practice in Frederick.
