We offer New Directions for your life and career path in Frederick on Thursday Nights.
For the past two weeks we discussed, in marathon fashion, (for three hours two weeks ago), how to change your approach to work and to life in a way that will have immediate rewards. Not through hype, but through a reasoned approach toward goal setting and achievement. There is no way that progress is going to happen in your life without considering your significant relationships and friends. Because that's so abundantly clear, we've had many discussions about constraining work and home environments and unfulfilling relationships. The trick, of course, is how to convert the difficult to the reasonable, and the unworkable to the supportive. Sometimes, it's impossible. But, if it can be done, this is a group of smart people that can help you do it!
Two weeks ago, the emphasis was on getting a job; identifying your desires, writing a broadcast letter, and aiming for an interview that provides a "meeting of minds".
Last week, we had a fascinating discussion of how to start a business that focused at least some
thought on how to get and sell marketing information.

perhaps that will be an opportunity for some, as it is a risk for others.
In general, the point of the group is not to judge, but to change behaviors so that they are more
productive and more likely to fulfill your goals in your life. We are, in a way, all in the business of
realizing each of our dreams. But, these are often difficult to achieve... This group is intended to furnish some help along the way.
This week, with a few new members and having lost some others, we will begin some new discussions
about how to make dreams for career and closeness real.
I hope you will join us.

PS - We meet on Thursday nights at 7PM at 129-13 Patrick Street, 2nd floor, in the offices of Allied Counseling. It costs money to rent the space and my time and purchase of materials is worth something, so I charge $ 35 for people that are working real jobs for the 2 hours, and $20 if people are unemployed or have jobs that pay less than the median household income, which is about $50,000 per year per household. Please let me know if you are coming the first time so that I can remember to bring some value material you might learn from, which I don't carry every week.
