Technically, that's the rule. But, even Michael Brock said it was O.k. to apply death of a pregen to a new character.

Kurt,

I don't think that's entirely correct. First, the players should choose their characters and fill out the reporting card first with their character PFS number before the scenario is played and before they've seen the challenges in the scenario or the rewards from the boon.  This keeps anyone playing a pregen from taking the "get out of death free" card by sacking the chronicle to a new character number rather than their lower level PC. Also it is my understanding the death condition is one that MUST be cleared at the end of the scenario it is gained during. Diseases, blindness, and other conditions can persist beyond the end of the scenario but death cannot. To that end, any PC who is dead, and not in any way raised at the end of the scenario is supposed to be marked as "character died" when the scenario is reported. That means they could not clear the condition when their character reached the level of applying the sheet. The system is meant to allow players to make legal tables that they normally would not be able to play at, while still maintaining a certain degree of consequence while playing a pregen.

Matt
