Thanksgiving Potluck at Animal Sanctuary!

Come celebrate Thanksgiving WITH the turkeys! Poplar Springs animal sanctuary in Poolesville, MD hosts a huge vegan Thanksgiving potluck (many hundreds of people!) every year. You can roam around the farm, interact with the animals, and enjoy TONS of great food!

All you need to bring a vegan dish to share and a little sign saying what it is. It's also recommended you bring a dish and utensil to eat with.

We won't necessarily be meeting as a group at the potluck or carpooling there; this posting is really just to let folks know about it. :)

Great time, other than the people that stole our spots at a table and acted like they didn't do it! Everyone else was wonderful, and it was great seeing some people I hadn't in a while.

Weather forecast for Sat is "Showers."
Are we going to have a roof or in the open field?

It's in an open field. The weather forecast that I heard did not seem too bad.

I'd love to make the event, but I work retail and I'm never free on the weekends. I have books by Neal Barnard, Michael Klaper, etc, Vegnews magazines, and other educational literature on veganism and related topics. This would be ideal for someone new to the movement. There are a lot of recipes. You can e-mail me at jazzandbeyondgemm at yahoo.

I am going but not staying for the whole thing. Probably leaving by 1:30-baby shower to attend. If anyone needs a ride down, I'm going to leave Frederick about 11-11:15.
