Let's meet to play ukulele, sing, and have fun.

We meet every Thursday, unless it falls on a holiday or our hosting venue is having a special event. Our hosting venue is the Eastgate Cafe in the Oak Park Arts District, who generously provides their dining room to us without a fee.. We sing songs found in that week's song-packet. Food and beverages are available for purchase from our hosting venue.

The song-sheet packets for this meetup are Oh, The Weather Outside Is…, Volume 1, and Chris’s Fab Beatles Set.  If you are a member, you can download the current song-sheet packets by bringing up the Song-sheet Packet for the Next Meetup page.  Click on the page name to go there now.

Wow - still feeling the happy effects of all you nutty uke players filling the Eastgate with fun and laughter and music. What a lucky guy I am to know you and to be able to hang out with you. Great work by our volunteer guest leads, including my brother in law George Mattson, BJ, Marsha, Margo, David, Larry, Bryan (sorry if I missed anyone). Great Beatley Bass work by Fireman Joe. Brenda's songbook rocked, Chris always makes it fun. Mind blower of the evening: Dan Hoenisch played a version of Greensleeves at the break that I could listen to over and over. Make him play it for you next week - you 'll see what I mean.

I came by the Eastgate Café after the meetup and there was still music being played and sung by those remaining of 44 participants. Wow! This meetup was the best attended since the first one on October 10th. Our hosts, Patrick and Olya, were very happy, which means a lot to us because the Eastgate Café is so special.

Thank you to all the participants; you're enthusiasm gives us organizers encouragement, your feedback helps us to find ways to improve future meetups, and by extending the courtesy of ordering something from our venue, you're helping us to keep our happy home.

If you haven't done so already, please take a few minutes to share your comments here or on the Group Reviews page (http://bit.ly/1j9CUO6...;).

If you're a member, feel free to read the current financial report: http://bit.ly/1cfqyQH Thank you to all who could afford to make a donation.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
