Let's meet to play ukulele, sing, and have fun on Boxing Day.

We meet every Thursday, unless it falls on a holiday or our hosting venue is having a special event. Our hosting venue is the Eastgate Cafe in the Oak Park Arts District, who generously provides their dining room to us without a fee.. We sing songs found in that week's song-packet. Food and beverages are available for purchase from our hosting venue.

The song-sheet packet for this meetup is Terry's Record Party. If you are a member, you can download the current song-sheet packet by bringing up the Song-sheet Packet for the Next Meetup page.  Click on the page name to go there now. A couple of the organizers are also bringing extra song-sheets on hard-copy.

Yes, that was me leading Auld Lang Syne, and Go Tell Aunt Rhody, and you were all in good singing form. I also got to meet up with a few who've only seen me on the Meetup site. What a great night.

Thank you to all the participants; your enthusiasm gives us organizers encouragement, your feedback helps us to find ways to improve future meetups, and by extending the courtesy of ordering something from our venue, you're helping us to keep our happy home.

If you haven't done so already, please take a few minutes to share your comments here or on the Group Reviews page (http://bit.ly/1j9CUO6).

If you're a member, feel free to read the current financial report: http://bit.ly/1caRRyp Thank you to all who could afford to make a donation.

What a great turnout for Boxing Day! Some folks even brought family members visiting from out of town.
The singing sounded really fantastic! We played some of our favorites with lots of enthusiasm, harmony and extra parts thrown in. Mike added a bit of class with his Xaphoon and Joe's bass playing was superb as always.
Thanks to all the song leaders:Terry, David, Alvin, Marsha, Brenda and Margo.
Thanks to David for bringing us four new Beatles songs and for his expert remarks about each one. Alvin was able to join us this week and brought in some songs to share. Now we all know what a mill pond is for....and the grey goose is OK, really.
We are all disappointed to not be invited to Terry's New Year's performance. Sadly, it is a private event and we can only imagine.
Auld Lang Syne was a great way to end the evening. Happy Fruitcake Day and Happy New Year to all!
And here's a hand my trusty friend
And give us a hand o’ thine
    We'll take a cup o'kindness yet
    For auld lang syne.

We do our darndest to get song-sheet packets online no later than the Tuesday before the meetup, and offline after the meetup. Please read the About Song-sheet Packets page (http://bit.ly/H3OrTq) and the About Individual Song-sheets page (http://bit.ly/1bspyd4). Please note that we are leaving the holiday songs packet online longer as a kind of holiday gift.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
