Let's meet to play ukulele, sing, and have fun.

We meet every Thursday, unless it falls on a holiday or our hosting venue is having a special event. Our hosting venue is the Eastgate Cafe in the Oak Park Arts District, who generously provides their dining room to us without a fee.. We sing songs found in that week's song-packet. Food and beverages are available for purchase from our hosting venue.

The song-sheet packets for this meetup are:

• Oh, the Weather Outside is... Volume 1; the same packet we used at the 5-Dec-2013 meetup with a new cover.  And

• Twelve Toe-Tapping Tunes for Ukulele

If you are a member, you can download the current packet by bringing up the Song-sheet Packet for the Next Meetup page.  Click on the page name to go there now.

Hey Nancy! Is that what you call uke players? I thought we were ukulelians!

You could also call yourself a "ukueleleist," but I like your word even better.

I really enjoyed myself last night, as always. Stellar songs and wonderful company. I especially enjoyed my conversation with Nancy. Such an open, honest, and emotional talk. Thanks for that! And thanks to Terry for giving me a networking tip. And to Ed for our slightly humurous chat about height. Tall people rule. ;)

I'm finding that the "unofficial meetup" after 9 is almost as good as the meetup itself. A very pleasant way to enjoy the company of your fellow ukulelists, listen to those who aren't quite ready to put their ukes away for the night, or join in for a song or two. The perfect balm to get you through the last day of the work week.

Chris told me that this week's meetup was like a party, and when I arrived the party was still going strong. What fun.

Thank you to all the participants; your enthusiasm gives us organizers encouragement, your feedback helps us to find ways to improve future meetups, and by extending the courtesy of ordering something from our venue, you're helping us to keep our happy home.

What a fantastic evening of music and fun! Thanks to Paul for bringing in "Under the Sea", Lisa for bringing "Chicken Blues", Mark for bringing in "Here Comes the Sun", and to Brenda for her hysterical parody, "Rubber Chicken"! The singing and playing was stellar, as was the company. Happy Spring to all!

I'm hoping the Stormy Weather is gone. Darn auto correct on my phone.

I've got one lesson under my belt! Fingers hurt, wrists hurt, my fingers get tangled trying to hit a G cord and holding the uke is a challenge - my girls get in the way LOL I'm having a blast. I even purchased a tuner in hopes it would help me play ... doesn't seem to help, oh well, I'll just keep plunking away. Let It Be and Imagine are on my playlist (darn G) almost the chorus anyway. I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
