Free Spirit Indoors Series: Movie night on a Sunday evening.
"Tulpan is an amazing film. It shows such an unfamiliar world, it might as well be Mars." Roger Ebert
This movie will transfer you to a unusual world of Nomads, with their culture, music and lifeless vast landscapes.
The world where “Tulpan” takes place is a windswept, sparely populated steppe in southern Kazakhstan. It is dry, dusty, cold and windy, and nothing seems to grow.
It will make you wonder why anyone would want to live in such a harsh environment, but for the main character whose name is Asa it is the most dear and beautiful place in the world. All he dreams about is to live the Nomad lifestyle and have a herd of sheep.
His uncle will give him a herd of sheep only on one condition: if he gets married. Unfortunately 10 sheep and a chandelier do not win the heart of the only girl in the area...
