The Freemium SF Bay Area in partnership with Softletter is proud to bring you the 2013 Softletter Software Sales Compensation Survey. Every participant completing the survey will receive a complimentary copy of the survey results. All answers & identities kept strictly confidential.

Take the Survey Now!

Softletter, in its 27th year of publication, publishes a series of annual surveys that examine every aspect of running a successful software business. This survey covers sales compensation processes and practices for a software/SaaS firm's direct sales and telesales force. Take the survey if your company supports direct sales, telesales or both.

The survey is up at this link:

The survey is a joint project of Softletter and Spectrum Technologies (). Spectrum is a full service Sales Performance and Incentive Compensation Management solution provider.

We're looking for some fairly standard information and will use this data to identify trends and current benchmarks that you can use to determine how your own numbers, processes and practices compare to those of comparable companies. The categories of questions we'll be asking cover:

* Company profiles, including type of software sold (mobile, OEM, on premise and SaaS)

* Close rates, managerial performance and sales plan goals

* Sales salaries and variable compensation, including commission override rates

* Sales compensation tools and satisfaction with their performance

* Recruitment, training and incentives

The entire survey is 35 to 70 questions, based on conditional responses and takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete. (If you do not know the answers to some of the questions, you can start the survey and return to it later.) Please pass this invitation along to a colleague in the industry who you feel should participate.

Everyone who supplies data for this survey will receive a complimentary copy of the complete summary results in the April/May issues of Softletter. Of course, all responses will be strictly confidential. We won't disclose or identify data about any individuals or about participating companies.

Please note that if you do not complete the entire survey, we can't send you a complete summary copy of the results. Further results will also be provided at Softletter's upcoming SaaS and Cloud Applications University in Seattle, May 21 - 23rd.

More information about SaaS University can be found here:

Also note that we will be sending the summary results via E-mail; if you provide us with a non-working address you won't receive the results. We're sorry, we don't have the time to deal with whitelist verification and suggest you add and to your approved recipients lists to ensure you receive the survey results.

Do not forget to push the Done button at the end of the questionnaire and then wait for the acknowledgment page.

Many thanks for your help!
