Mold Making Workshop

This workshop is an Introduction to Basic Mold Making to be held as a “learn by doing” type class where participants will make a mold of an object, with the goal to be knowledge of how to continue making versus a ‘final object’ result. There will be a demonstration and explanation of the ‘whys’ behind mold making as well as a handout defining basic terms and techniques, followed by participants each making their own mold, a “positive” cast to be taken from that mold in clay. (If desired this positive can be fired to hardness and picked up the next week). Last will be a final explanation of further materials and methods.

**Participants will learn how to make an Impression Mold and 2-Part Molding will be discussed.
There will be a variety of appropriate items available to mold, but you can bring an object of your
own to try provided it has no undercuts.

Class size is limited to 10 People (so everyone can have hands on instruction).

Pre-Registration is Required.

Cost is $30 / Person and includes both Materials and Instruction.

There will be 2 more progressive sessions following up on information taught in this class. The second will be on 2-Part Molds and using Rubber Encasement/Mother Molds, and the Third will discuss Advanced Multiple Part Molding techniques and using various Silicone types, Cold Casting, and Resin/Plastics.

Hey Steven, I'd like to do a plus 1 and have me and my girl attend this- should I just put in $60 at the paypal reservation screen?

I'm not sure how Meetup handles this. You can try that and if that doesn't work, you can just show up with $30 and that should be fine. Can you let me know if Paypal allows that after you try?

Thanks Steven, I just let Julia know that I was bringing two people, and paid 60 at the paypal thing. It wouldn't allow me to rsvp two, but would allow the extra payment. I know class size is at maximum right now, so I just wanted her to know that both of us wanted to participate.
