Intermediate Mold Making Workshop

This workshop is the follow-up to Introduction to Basic Mold Making and covers Intermediate level knowledge and skills.Workshop to be held as a “learn by doing” type class where participants will make a mold of an object, with the goal to be knowledge of how to continue making versus a ‘final object’ result.

There will be a demonstration and explanation on resin/rubber mold making as well as a handout defining intermediate terms and techniques, followed by participants each making their own mold in using silicone rubber. This class will also cover Multiple Part Molds and using Rubber Encasement/Mother Molds as well.

**Participants will learn how to make an Impression Mold and 2-Part Molding will be discussed. There will be a variety of appropriate items available to mold, but you can bring an object of your own to try provided it has no undercuts.

Class size is limited to 10 People (so everyone can have hands on instruction).

Pre-Registration is Required.

The gate code and pre-workshop instructions will be emailed 2-days prior.

There will be one more session in this series, where we will discuss Advanced Multiple Part Molding Techniques and using various Silicone types, Cold Casting, and Resin/Plastics.

    Is the beginner class required?

I have a project that I'm going to try mold making for and I figure that this might be good even if I am behind.

Come anyway, you won't have the depth of knowledge as those who take the beginning but I can help u understand the basics (though I recommend taking the beginning class next time I offer it in the fall since I go over a lot of things that help understand the background and essentials to keep you from making all the little mistakes that mess up newbies.)
