What do you hope to get from this Freethinkers group

I want to meet like-minded freethinkers to make as new friends. So tired of my Christian "friends" constantly bringing up God and telling me "they will pray for me" when things are a bit down.

How did you come to your current ideas about religion

As a child, spending countless hours in a Baptist church, I'd always been skeptical of the Sunday sermons. I found it hard to believe that something "imaginary" was in charge of all that happened to us. Afraid to mention it to my family, I kept it hidden from the world until I was in my early 20s having children of my own and faced with what direction I would go with parenting them about things I felt important. I made the decision when my oldest (now 23) was 6 that I would raise her as I be a non-believer. Sadly, despite her upbringing, she is now a Christian....but I still love her! :)

What type of events might appeal most to you.

Most anything outdoors (no extreme sports like rock climbing); game nights, eating out, casual get togethers, wine tasting...

I'm Sherri, a new resident of Colorado Springs, looking for like-minded individuals to surround myself with. :) I've been a freethinker since my teens and even though I was raised Baptist, I knew at an early age Christianity wasn't for me.
