Get ready to put aside the Thanksgiving leftovers and dine on Fremont Area Writers' Two for One Turkey Time Treat! No, not food--food for thought! FAW is reintroducing our Open Mic with host Tony Pino, an accomplished poet and fiction writer. Five to eight members can sign up at the door to read a five-minute portion of their work to the audience. For questions, contact Tony at [masked]
Shirley Scott, FAW Treasurer, will moderate our panel of intrepid FAW writers who will answer your questions about writing, editing, publishing, and marketing... you name it! Art Carey, FAW public relations chair, writes frequently for online and print publications and is the author of The Gender War, a humor novel. Tish Davidson, a freelance writer and editor, has published three nonfiction young adult books and numerous articles. Bob Garfinkle, CWC president and past president of FAW, has published two astronomy books and many book reviews, articles, and short stories. Some sample questions that may be answered:
· Should I write my book chronologically? Advantages and disadvantages.
· What’s the difference between “lay” and “lie”?
· Do I need to copyright my writing? How does copyright work?
So panelists can prepare, email your questions to Shirley [masked] ahead of the meeting. Or just come and listen. More questions will surely come up during the discussion. Bring a friend!
