NOISE in Digital Photos: Exploit? Prevent? Remove?

All:

Please note: There's no charge for the meeting, but donations are welcome to keep the meetings going. Thanks for your concern and consideration.

Digital cameras have improved radically -- no news there.  But digital "noise" -- the "grainy" look -- may still be an element in some photos.

This meetup will help to define "noise," and show you some crystal-clear examples of digital noise in images that you will hold in your hands.  You will see for yourself the conditions under which noise arises. You will learn how to decide if noise may actually ADD VALUE to certain images. We will discuss and demonstrate methods to suppress and INCREASE noise-creating conditions in the camera.

Finally we will look at several tools and techniques for dealing with noise after the image is in your computer. There are numerous exceptionally capable tools for reducing and sometimes completely eliminating noise in your images. We'll experiment with a few.

Thanks,

Len

Dang, these spontaneous postings are killing me Len. Already have plans and...the dang class filled up before I even read the email :-( Next time. I'm going to watch the 13 story Cal State Hayward building implode tomorrow morning.
