French Conversation in South Beach (Miami Beach, Florida 33139)

Bonjour "Les Francophones de South Beach"!

Thanks to everyone who has R.S.V.P.ed for TODAY'S Meetup at 5 p.m. (address above...Panera's is between 14th and 15th Streets on Alton Road, on the corner of 14th Court and Alton).  If you haven't R.S.V.P.ed and want to attend, please do so now, so I can save a big-enough table.

If anyone is not attending because of the NCAA Final Four Basketball games on TV, there are at least two restaurants/bars near Panera's with the games on.  So feel free to come to Panera's at 5 p.m. and leave if you need to leave for the games.  (I can tell you how to get to the other restaurants, within 5 minutes' walk of Panera's.)

I've also received news of a big Meet-up Bash/Party of about 300 people (ages "20s to 30-somethings," it says) in Downtown Miami around 10 or 11 p.m. tonight.  It looks like some of our members are going.  Dress code is nice/dressy/club-wear.  So if you come to our French Meet-up, you'll still have time to get to that!  (We meet just 5 to 7 p.m....and, possibly, longer for any who wish.)

Look for us today at 5 p.m. at the long table INSIDE Panera's on the back "wall of windows" to left after you enter Panera's.  Some members wanted a quieter atmosphere than the traffic on Alton Road.  We'll see how we like the indoor table.  (Note:  No pets allowed inside.:(  If we are not there, we'll either be on the Front Terrace (like last time) or the Back Terrace (which is very small, seats only about 8 and not very pretty or picturesque, but quiet).  If you can't find us, please ask the Manager where we are.  Listen for the French! :)

We'll speak "only French" from 5 to 6 p.m.  And then, if the French people want, we can speak English with them from 6 to 7 p.m.  Members (and guests) are welcome to stay longer or extend their evenings together, if they wish.

A few people who attended last week haven't signed up on this site yet, so please encourage them to do so.  If you're in contact with other Members, please ask them to attend, too.  We'll do this Meetup each week at this time and place (for now)...but we can also add other events you suggest at other times and places...i.e.- French movies, Alliance Francaise events, dancing (all types), sports, etc.

Merci beaucoup et a tres bientot a 17h ajourd'hui (samedi)!  Thanks a lot and see you soon today (Saturday) at 5 p.m.!

Tres Cordialement,

A.J. (Organizer)

Great group of "Francophones de South Beach"! Good conversation. I learned some new French vocabulary and "argot" (slang), thanks to our French members (from Paris area). Merci beaucoup! A la prochaine! A.J.
