A french lady living in Paris, I'm looking to improve and practice English with native English speaking people. I would be happy to help improving French : I'm used to.
Yes, I prefer to be with a group, to get used to different accents, different moods, different cutures....
I'm over 50 and your group is exactly what I was looking for.
Cuture and civilisations are always enriching : a language is just a link to other human beings.
Good place, nice people...
Jazz is OK as well. Always fascinating to find jazz fans that clash over certain artists even among themselves (-"Which Miles Davis do you like? -Well, there is only one Miles Davis - 'Bitches Brew Davis or´´Sketches of Spain Davis?") Ah classical. That big black hole for the regular "everything else but classical" person. Be bold and passionate. We need you even if we do not really know it ourselves.
Welcome to the group Edna!
As for varieties, I do not know if you mean regular pop music or "varietés" as in the French tradition of French "chanson" sung in cabarets and bars in French. Both things will be interesting to me (even if you were a Johnny Hallyday fan, you know, the guy who sings "OOOOOOOOOOOOpthique Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeuxmille").
Musicals? Please do share. Are contemporary French musicals ("Mozart", "Dracula") worthy sucessors of Jacques Demy? Or is there a hidden French composer?
Happy New year ...anyway !
Thank you Edna ! Looking forward to seeing you again. I'm gonna plan another meeting very soon ! Take care
