bon jour tout le monde -- I am an American who spends lots of time in France and have always liked French cinema. I am hoping if I see enough French movies Hollande will give me a French passport!! :-)
I had a real nice time at the Gainsbourg film -- my pleasantly amazed thanks to Thierry for organizing such a great event. Entering into the private screening room at the Coolidge was to enter a world apart, as one of the other guests observed. A world quietly French and completely naturally so, although it was in Coolidge Corner not Place de l'Odeon. The film was strong -- complexly allowing puppets to join the unity of the action, allowing the protaginist's inner world to emerge as an character in the film. Just so, the entire evening in concept and application was very enjoyable -- allowing each of us who has an interior French "lutin" to participate in the cordial community that gathered after the flim!
