Here are some frequently asked questions about our group:
Are all group activities in French only?
French is spoken at every event, especially conversation nights and dinners. It need not be perfect, but your best attempt is appreciated. Understand that some members are not completely fluent, so you will hear some English spoken as well. Conversation meetups are geared toward speaking only French.
Is this group okay for French beginners?
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to offer French classes, or to teach beginners to speak the language. Beginners should really seek formal classes elsewhere. Our group is designed for those with enough prior French experience to converse in French with others. Typically, if you have had at least a couple of years of college level French courses, you should have enough background.
When does the group meet?
Our group meets at different times, normally on weekdays, and occasionally on weekends, from 7pm to around 9pm, depending on the event (dinners tend to go later).
How often does the group meet?
Generally, the group has an event of some type every week.
Are members required to attend all meetups?
No, there is no requirement for members to attend all meetups. Typically, members pick and choose what works best for them. To remain in the group, you must attend at least one event per year.
Are all your meetups in Tampa?
No, we also have meetups in Clearwater, and occasionally St. Petersburg.
Where are your members from?
Our group is multi-cultural, and we have members from many different international backgrounds. Members live in different areas of Tampa Bay - Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg.
