Fresh Ground Stories: Do Overs - Can I take that back?

I’ve always thought life should give us at least one do-over. I know I’m not supposed to have regrets and that on my good days I can accept that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, but wouldn’t it be nice to have just one take back? One do over just to see what a second chance would have gotten us?

Tell us a true story about something you’d like to take back or do over. Or maybe about a time where you’re happy you didn’t get a do over.

The rules for stories are below but you know the kind we’re looking for: true stories that happened to you that still mean something to you days, months or even years later.

I hope to see you at our next show on Thursday, August 22nd, 7:00pm at the Roy St Cafe. You can read our rules/guidelines for storytelling here:

Ok, one last post and then I'll stop bugging you. I forgot to apologize to the people who we didn't have time to bring onstage. I love that you got inspired during the show and put your name in the tin. I wish I could have brought each one of you up but we were already over time and I want to make sure we had room put back together by 9:00. I hope the story you had in mind will fit with the shows coming up. I always feel bad when we run out of time and there are still names in the tin.

Oh, I forgot one thing. I'm happy to send storytellers the audio of the story you told last night. It might take me a few days and I can't guarantee the quality but it's yours if you want it. Write me at [masked] and I'll send it off to you.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night. And special thanks to all the great storytellers from Deborah who started us off to Kathy to closed the show. I had a wonderful time and I hope you guys did too.

There were a lot of stories last night that I will remember for a long time. Danny's story of being on board ship just offshore of Haiti is something that I'm still thinking about. Melissa's story from Turkey makes me want to renew my passport. Danielle, of course, reminds me that the stories I'm scared to tell are the ones that most need telling. Norm, Ray, Elliot, David, Chris...have I missed anyone. I hope not. If I did you can chalk it up to sleep deprivation. Thank you all for having the courage to get up there and share your lives.

I'll get the new meetup scheduled as soon as I can. The theme is Caught! - Stories of getting caught or catching someone.

    See you next month!

I just want to say thanks to everyone who has told people about this meetup. We're getting a lot of new members and I'm awfully grateful for that.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing their stories.
