When Paige and I first started this group, our intention was to workout together once a week in addition to our running to help prepare ourselves for this November's Tough Mudder. Meetup seemed like a good way to organize everything, and before we knew it, other people were joining our group and asking when the first workout would be. My goal is now to bring together a network of people in the Chapel Hill/Durham area with all different fitness levels to workout together. I love the diversity of our group and how encouraging everyone is towards one another. We have fitness beginners and ex-trainers and competitive racers in our group, and everyone has a great workout! It's been so great getting to know the new people that join us for workouts and grow our "fitness family" with all the repeats. I hope the group becomes even more robust over time!
I run regularly and have completed a handful of 1/2 marathons as my longest-distance run. I don't run very fast, but I can go forever and I attack hills! I work with a personal trainer once a week who helps me with my strength training, TRX, and kettlebell work. I have also recently gotten into rock climbing, and would like to start biking regularly as well if I can find the time. I have 1 Tough Mudder under my belt so far and can't wait to make that 2 in November. I love participating in various road races and mud races locally, but there never seems to be enough time or money to do all of the ones that look interesting.

My name is Kelly! I love planning the workouts for this group - it's always fun to figure out how to add in variety, challenge everyone enough, accommodate all fitness levels, and make it fun! This helps me combine my love of teaching and fitness!
