Fresno "H" Friends is a PRIVATE social group for people with genital herpes (HSV-1, HSV-2) who live in Fresno and the surrounding areas. We welcome anyone over 18 who is interested in making new friends, sharing fun activities together, and meeting others who share our surprisingly common situation.
FACT: Nearly 1 in 5 women and nearly 1 in 6 men are diagnosed with genital herpes and many do not even know they have it. Fresno "H" Friends was formed for a variety of reasons. First and foremost to lend support to those who are struggling emotionally with being diagnosed with herpes. We're here to let you know that life does not STOP when you contract herpes; you just need to make a few minor adjustments. And since Herpes does not discriminate, we hope to create a very diverse group of people with various cultural backgrounds of all ages. It doesn't matter who you are, what your ethnic background is, how old you are, your sexual preference, your religion or your politics, or what you do for a living - Fresno "H" Friends is and will be a great big mix of wonderful individuals who make the most of it!
Fresno "H" Friends is totally FREE with no dues or membership fees - just lots of fun activities to enjoy, all organized by other members like you. Because Fresno "H" Friends has NO officers, NO social directors, NO dues & NO budget - we rely on individual members like you to volunteer to organize social events and activities that others might be interested in, such as Happy Hours, Brunches, Hikes, Picnics, Bike Rides, Dog Walks, Museum Tours, Dancing, Ball Games, Bowling, Wine-Tasting, Comedy Shows, Billiards/Pool, Kid Friendly & Family Events, Concerts, Motorcycle Rides, Movies & Dinner, etc. And if you'd like to see more events that reflect your interests, please feel free to plan something! (I have adjusted the settings for this group to keep our meeting times and locations private. You must join our group in order to see the calendar and you can adjust your settings to keep the groups you join public or private based on your own preference).
So if you have questions or just need someone to talk to then Fresno "H" Friends is the place for you. We will make sure that everyone is introduced to other friendly folks and make you feel at home. You will hear many of us say over and over again, there is nothing like meeting other people with herpes. People who understand the stigma attached to a diagnosis of genital herpes, Fresno "H" Friends recognizes that having the ability to socialize within the community is a huge part of the healing process. Local and regional "H" groups are an amazing way to find friendship and a means of socialization with people who understand our commonality. Fresno "H" Friends is not a "Herpes Dating Service" and provides no personal ads. Instead, members plan social events and activities to allow members to meet one another in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere. It's mostly just about making new friends and having fun together. But who knows! You may just meet a significant other while attending one of the outings and it will make it all the more interesting and fun! So lets get out there and have fun and meet new people!
