CSS Positioning Techniques: The Basics

I'm looking forward to this talk. Samantha Metheny's tackling the hard part of Cascading Style Sheets, positioning. It's part of what makes modern website building so challenging.

Samantha will present an overview of how to use CSS when positioning elements on a web page. We will see how to apply "floats" to move an object to either the left or right side of another object, and how to cancel floats by using "clears." Then we will delve a little deeper into how to move objects around on a page in relationship to one another ("absolute vs. relative positioning") and we'll finish by seeing it all in action in a simple demonstration.

Links to some advanced articles on positioning (for those learning CSS3): http://www.netmagazine.com/features/pros-guide-css-layouts

A couple of people wanted to have some recommendations for web developing IDEs: (That's an Integrated Development Environment.)
Try: PHP Storm. It has an Intelligent PHP Editor, an Advanced JavaScript Editor, an HTM/CSS Editor, Visual Debugging, etc. Jamii really likes it. :)

    Thanks everyone for coming.
