Gerry's San Francisco City Ride!

You've heard about it. It's here! The San Francisco City Ride! is a mellow ride through the streets of San Francisco. We ride down Market street, take a 15 minute break at the Ferry Building, ride the Embarcadero past the Fisherman's Wharf, down the twistiest street in the world, Lombard St. From there we go through Chinatown to North Beach where we stop for coffee and pastries. Then we ride past the mansions of Pacific Heights, the Marina and Chrissy Field to the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. Then on to the Haight Ashbury where we take a 30 minute stroll to look at the wildlife and go through the Castro to a late lunch in the Mission. Then a short ride through Noe Valley to Twin Peaks - the end of the ride. Takes about 6 hours to do 36 miles, so we travel at an average speed of 6mph. This is a joint FoSMR / South Bay Riders / Bay Area Moto Group ride, so there will be all kinds of bikes and lots of new people to meet. Come join the fun! FoSMR Host:

A good time was had by all. How we all kept together I'll never know. Just good planning and regroup locations I guess. Thanks for a well planned ride.

Great pictures, everybody! I was in SF yesterday on a visiting-tourist mission, but kept a sly eye out for you all... looks like a great ride!

What a fun ride!! Amos kinda talked me into going, didn't have to twist my arm too hard, and I had a blast! Thanks Gerry and Lynn for such a fun day going through the City. Did Amos go back to meet up w/ that Budwiser girl he saw in the Castro? Any way Great People, ride and the Pork Chops at the "Pork Store Cafe" in the Mission was Fantastic!

thanks for the post Gerry - I was just about to send you an email to find out if it is proper for ladies to show up and find a ride? Kim ( if she's feeling well enough) will meet me in PA and then meet the group at the MickeyD's. I'm picking up a helmet tonight.
