The ride will be as long or as short as the group wants (but I usually aim for anywhere between 15 and 25 miles), at a casual, conversational and seeing-the-sites kind of pace.
We'll meet at 9:30, at Bennett's Fresh Roast (in an effort to support our smaller, local businesses - great homemade donuts here!) on the right on Periwinkle, just after the causeway but before DQ. We'll hang there for 45 min. to an hour, enjoying a morning coffee and excellent conversation. The chosen topic for the day: favorite local beaches, where and why.
If at all possible, park on the causeway or in some other public place, rather than leave your car taking up space in the business parking lot. Anybody who wants to ride over the bridge with me, leave a note below and we can arrange to meet earlier on the Fort Myers side.
As always, it may be hot, so bring plenty of water and sunscreen. We can plan a stop at Ding Darling to refill water bottles and use the facilities, etc.
For anyone who would like to participate, but does not own a bike, there are several places conveniently located on the island where you can rent one for about $15 a day. If you need more information about rentals, feel free to contact me (my cell # is[masked]).
This is a two-part event. Feel free to come for the just coffee and conversation, just the ride, or both. The idea is to just enjoy a great day touring this very bike-friendly island!
NOTE: This is part of a series of (generally) weekly Coffee - Conversation - Fitness - Exploration events that I will be hosting. Stay tuned for more.
