For a different take on the usual fourth Friday dinner, we are going to meet at The Comedy Shrine in Aurora to see an improv show and then go out afterward for a late dinner/snacks/drinks at the Foundry.
Price for the 8 p.m. improv show will be $16 (which includes a small Paypal fee). I will purchase the tickets for the group when the RSVPs close, so if you are interested in going please RSVP and use the Paypal option on this site. RSVPs for this event will close on Monday, September 24, at 1 p.m.
The Main Stage presents “Whose Line?” improv comedy similar to ABC’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” TV show. This show features professional improvisers with audience interaction. One drink minimum for all shows. The Comedy Shrine Ensemble is made up of veteran improvisational actors who have worked with such troupes as The Second City, Improv Olympics, Comedy Sportz, Noble Fool Theater and Musical the Musical. We'll be seated at tables of 4 in the same section.
The show is at 8 p.m. but everyone should plan to be there at 7:15 so that the seating process isn't held up. Seating begins at 7:30. There is a 2-drink minimum, but that does include soft drinks.
Afterward we'll head over to the Foundry across the mall for a late dinner/drinks.
The Foundry is the ultimate destination for anyone who loves sports. The venue is the only sports bar that has 22 projection TVs and 140 flatscreen TVs. The Foundry also has an OTB, shuffleboard tables, pool tables, sand volleyball, team trivia, and an indoor tobacco shop and lounge.
Live DJ Friday at 10 p.m. No cover charge.
