On Thursday, February 14, show her you are a sensitive guy on Valentine's Day. But on Friday it is time to leave for a weekend of BCT-6 training for the next mission. Where ever there is a treefall across the trail, where ever a brush crowds the path, we are training to be ready and go anytime, anywhere. That is the spirit of the BWAC BCT-6. On this trip you will learn the ins and outs of winter survival: How to heat up water for hot jello to get you going at zero degrees in the morning, how to dig ice with a combat knife for 25 minutes to reach water underneath, and how to keep your feet warm with vapor barriers and yet not come back with a case of accute foot fungus. Intrigued? Trip location to be determined, but definitely north of Duluth. Carpooling from north burbs. Bring yer own food. We will be showshoeing and pulling sleds. Lowest temp expected -5 deg F. Predicted highs: 11 deg F. Notice: Subject to BWAC trip policy, certain electronic devices are not allowed, pet free and tobacco free trip. Gear list is in the Files section on metup. Contact the organizer for details.
