Snowshoe Banning State Park

Join us for snowshoeing at Banning! Adventure, danger - we will be crossing the Kettle River and snowshoeing on the east shores.  Last time the BCT-6 crossed the river the ice was 18 inches thick.  Hopefully for you, it still is.

Bring, well, snowshoes and ski poles, pack with gear if you are training, at least one water bottle, camera, snack, TP, whistle, extra warm layer when we stop, optional thermos with hot cocoa or maybe a stove to heat up water on.

You will need MN State Park daily or annual sticker for your vehicle.  If you like to car pool - post below (my vehicle is full).

Remember there are lichens along the way - and this will be an opportunity to a identify them.

Duration 3-4 hours.  Difficulty medium to slightly intense (due to deep snow). Lunch prior to hike optional at TBD.
