Czech Direct Camping Trip

Trip type: Backpacking to Eagle Mountain via the less traveled route over weekend.  Not very long distance, but the type of trip that could be physically demanding.

Our last attempt to navigate to mysterious Plain Of Jars ended at near tragedy when the leading member plunged through 2+ feet of snow into thigh deep Cascade River(while wearing backpack and snowshoes).  Uncooperative weather stymied two more scheduled trips.  With snow melting and rivers running, a river trip is out.  That's when land based adventure kicks in - "Czech Direct" route to top of Eagle Mountain.  This will be a weekend trip, that requires stamina and determination.  Snow may linger in the forest and weather could contribute to difficulty.  But whatever happens, the experience will be priceless.  What time will we reach the Minnesota's highest point?  Ask Henry.  Perplexed?  Contact the organizer for details, gear list (or search files), and for permission to register.  Small print:  Subject to BWAC trip policy, pet and tobacco free trip, some electronic devices not allowed (i.e. cell phones, and no, no spot radios - this is wilderness), you do need to agree to wear safety glasses when bushwhacking (we will provide) .  Weather forecast (as of posting): Day 45 deg F, night 31 deg F.  Wood ticks likely to be abundant (you can treat your clothing with permethryn).  Cost:  Car pooling, BWCA permit ($16 per person), bring your own food.
