Langley Park Conservation Work for Volunteers Group 5.00 5.002

If you like to be in nature, enjoy gardening, would like to meet new people and have more social activities, and would like to learn new skills, then join this group, and come along to our monthly conservation days for volunteers in Langley Park Country Park.

Great days out volunteering in this lovely historical woodland park - lots of fun, can be hard work, and is very rewarding, with a great bunch of like-minded people. All help very much appreciated.

This group started around 3 years ago, to help with necessary ongoing work in this historical park.

We meet in Langley Park car park in Billet Lane, Iver, Bucks, SL0 0LT first Saturday of each month at 10am.

Following full instruction on the work we will be carrying out (all tools and equipment provided) we work through til breaktime around 11.30am when we have tea and biscuits. We continue working til lunchtime (approximately 1pm) where one of our volunteers provides wonderful home made cakes (please bring packed lunch), and finish working at 3pm. Volunteers are welcome to stay for as long or little as they like - some leave at lunchtime, some do a few hours, some stay the whole day.

Although it can be hard work at times, it is always fun with a great group of like-minded people, with a feeling of satisfaction and a job well done at the end.

The kind of things we do are clearing the ha-ha, cutting down the willows and small invasive trees, beetle bank construction, installing orienteering posts, weaving willow guards to protect young trees, coppicing the rhododenrons, putting down mulch, clearing bracken and brambles, plus lots more. It is lots of funand is very rewarding.

Hot drinks and biscuits provided throughout the day.
