Join Onion Creek Park Neighborhood Alliance and Austin Common Ground Relief in celebrating MLK Day of Service by cleaning up Onion Creek Park and Greenbelt, which is just upstream of McKinney Falls.
The Onion Creek Greenbelt and surrounding areas were devastated by a record-breaking flash flood last Halloween. The neighbors are in a rebuilding process, and we will help by cleaning up of the park and trails, which are the heart of this community. During the cleanup we also plan to separate the scrap metal to sell. The proceeds will go to the Onion Creek Park Neighborhood Alliance.
Keep Austin Beautiful will be providing trash bags. We are hoping they will also be able to provide some gloves and tools, but bring your own if you have them. We also recommend wearing pants, long-sleeves, and boots if possible as there will be mud and poison ivy.
Meet us at the Onion Creek Park at 9am on MLK Day. All ages welcome and the park is an off-leash dog area.
