Mt.Tam State Park Hike Leader, Ernie Castiaux leads today's hike.
Beginning along the Matt Davis Trail with the views of the Bay, then we climb up the Nora trail to have out lunch at the West Point Inn (1904). After lunch, we then walk along the Rock Spring trail, which is fairly level and has breathtaking views. We may see Calypso orchids which grow here during the Spring.
We will walk past the Mountain Theater (1936) built by the CCC. Down Bootjack trail and Matt Davis to return to our cars.
This is a Moderately Paced Saturday Hike.

Directions: Exit 101 at CA 1 Mill Valley / Stinson Beach. Stay on Highway one (it turns left aprox. 1.5 miles). Remain on Highway One for aprox. 2.5 miles. Turn RIGHT on Panoramic Hwy. Continue up the mountain for approx. 5.5 miles. Bootjack parking lot is on the right.
Cancellation: Heavy steady rain cancels.
Bring: lunch, liquids (the equivalent of 2 liters of water), and warm clothing. Park rules prohibit alcoholic beverages. Recommend well-fitting boots for traction and ankle support.
Cost: $8 parking fee.
