There is one simple rule: Please do not sign-up for an event unless you know you will attend. Cancelling an RSVP may limit your future Event RSVPs. As an important courtesy, please don't sign-up for an event unless you know you will attend.
The hikes vary in length from five to ten miles (see hike listing for distance), over hilly, rocky and uneven surfaces. Please read the, "Disclaimer" at, http://www.meetup.com/Friends-of-Mt-Tam/messages/boards/thread/465995
Your passport type photo, first name&last initial are required. If someone goes missing the Ranger will need a name & description. It also allows us to put names&faces together when we meet&helps break the ice.You can join after you post your photo.
Can you help out with an upcoming event?Things to help with are; being the hike's Sweep. When the hike leader sees the sweep he knows everyone is still together. Help as the hike's naturalist or historian.
Our Events leave at the time shown. Coming late will cause you to miss the Event. We don't normally take guests. Instead of coming as a guest we ask that they become a member of the Meetup. How many Meetups do you belong to?

“Our Social Guidelines”
Please bring hiking and to Friends, if you can; your brightest self. At least try! It may not always be easy. To an outdoor group, that wants to attract positive emotion, uplifting people. With a desire to lift themselves up, to the top of a mountain. Bringing a wonderful, forward momentum into our lives. This momentum takes us to higher energetic emotions of joy, excitement, enthusiasm, positive expectations and passionate love of life; its planet and the deep mystery, of what is beyond. The group focuses on the positive aspects of life as we experience it, in this place, through the Seasons, as they pass, on Mt.Tam or elsewhere. We strive for equanimity on the hikes, by acknowledging; it is everyone's right, no matter what their physical capability, to have a positive, outdoor experience, in nature, with the group, by way of a hike. After having a bad day or week and not feeling very positive about things, "Meetup", hike with Friends, and feel better, in community, on a Mountain, getting the mind away from the un-positive; gaining perspective and space in the time here. To lessen what is troubling. Let in Friends, this wonderful land of California, the Californians, our beautiful City; and our nearby Mountain; it’s valleys, hills and the living things here....be magic. All Thanks; to my Friends, sincerely, jordan herrmann[
