Charging for Events seems to be misunderstood. It takes hard work to have a great Event. From initial planning and write-ups, map, directions, photos and managing things up until the start of the Event. Then leading the Event to make it a great one.

The hikes vary in length from five to 8.5 miles (see hike Event listing for distance), over hilly, rocky and uneven surfaces. Sorry we don't take guests. Instead of coming as a guest we simply ask that they become a member of the Meetup.

It is good to post a passport type photo, first name and last initial. Could be helpful, when who knows, to have a name and what someone looks like. It also allows us to put names and faces together when we meet. (Helps break the ice.)

The yearly cost for this Meetup web site is $180. Small amounts are charged to offset expenses and be sustainable. It takes hard work to have a great Event. (Answers to Hiking FAQs can be found under the "Pages" tab above.)

Our Events leave on time. Coming late will result in missing the Event. It's impolite to cause those who come on time to wait for latecomers.

I live in Mill Valley but haven't hiked Mt. Tam much yet, so this will be a great opportunity for me to finally enjoy more of the mountain.
