Business Networking Social

Hi Business Networkers!

It has been some time since we have had a business event. The group has been dormant and just sitting here.   NOW is the time to revive this group and get out and improve our connections.  There are many of us out there still trying to keep our businesses alive in this economy and it is high time we started using all our connections to give us that "leg up" that we all need.

Rudy Segovia hosted our first event last week at Moretti's in Mt. Prospect. We had about 20 attendees and he invited Johnny, The Transition Man, and both did presentations that were on target and inspiring.  As a matter of fact, it lit a new fire in my spirit for this group and my own business.  I took three pages of notes that I plan to re-visit.  Johnny said a few things that helped me solve some real issues in helping me think about how to gain new customers and get my own business moving in a positive and forward motion. When I left there that night, I had a plan and the motivation to re-start with new vigor.

Building good business relationships are built on good connections with others.  That means getting to know each other in more than just a networking event. That means getting to know each other as people, as individuals and creating a history with them.  It means getting to KNOW them.  Really know them.  Where they live, if they have a family, what they do for fun, what inspires them to do what they do for their work and getting to know WHO is inside in their heads and hearts.

I always see people like we look at books.  You can look at a book and the cover looks great or it looks blah.  If the book looks good, we are more apt to crack it open and give it a read.  But when it is a blah cover, we tend to pass it by.

Yet, you really don't know what is inside of the book until you sit down and take the time to start turning the pages, digesting what is inside and painting the picture inside your head as the story unfolds.  I have met some of the most amazing people in my life who didn't look like much but when they started talking and exposing to me who they are, I was just floored!  They were what I call "sleepers".  They have so much to share and I learned so much from them.

So in the spirit of getting to know each of you better, I invite you to a cocktail social business networking event just for the purpose of getting re-acquainted and getting to know each of you much better.

Each of you will be mailed a profile so that I can learn more about you.  I ask that you fill that out and mail it back to me.  When you attend the event, I will know each of you better and I will be introducing each of you to people that YOU should connect with.  THAT is what CONNECTERS is all about! CONNECTIONS!

Connecters is also about empowering our members, that means YOU, to host events to showcase your talents and share what you have to share with others.  That means that I am asking any of you who wish to host a networking evening with a presentation to the group and social network afterwords.  Do you do workshops or presentations that educate and inspire others?  Well, you have an audience through Connecters.  This is YOUR group and it is up to each of you to help make this group powerful and valuable to all of us and those that we touch.

I will do my homework!  When you attend, I will have people in place (assistant hosts) to help me help you make introductions and good connections.

The best business relationships are built on first LIKING someone, RESPECTING them and seeing them for their value to you or possibly to your other connections.

So come on out and join us and get re-acquainted, meet some new people and make some new connections.

We will have a reserved section, some great free appetizers that Black Finn will be bringing out, 1/2 priced wines and GREAT connections!

You are welcome to invite anyone you wish or even other networking groups to this event.  You just never know what connections can be made!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
