Good morning friends,
I am saddened and shocked that Frannie has cancelled all the events that she had planned. I thought they were great events and I think that Frannie is a wonderful person.
Friends First is going to be doing some charitable events along with the Random Acts of Kindness Group, Deb Nelson to support some local charities. Those charities will be people and animal based charities.
I had asked Frannie if she would be the director of those events and collect fees and report those fees to me. There would have been a seperate Friends First Foundation set up to house those fees. Many of Frannies events were planned on the same day as some of our larger events. On a couple of occasions when we had events planned that cost time and money, people cancelled out to go to Frannies Free event, leaving our paid out of pocket for supplies and venue, with empty spots because people cancelled at last minute. I personally met with Frannie and asked that she not post anything on the same date as when we had larger events planned. Frannie does not pay to post on this site, nor did she make any money for her events. I did ask her to charge a small $1-2 fee for her events and donate that money to the charities. When Frannie started her events, that was discussed but never done.
I had the courtesy to meet with Frannie in person several times. Frannie did not have the courtesy to meet with me or even write a short note to me telling me of her decision and tell me that she planned to cancel the events (which I still found to be a great service to our memebers!). She did write to me declining to be the head of Friends First Charitable Foundation but never mentioned that she would cancel all events that she planned.
So friends, as we all know, there are always TWO sides to every story. I am saddened and upset that she left and that she decided to air our differences in public. THUS I have to reply to her disturbing letter to all of you. I do not believe that members should be publicly drawn into such happenings by the organizers of my site. I would have handled this one on one and in person. I am not everyone. So for that I apologize.
I wish Frannie the best and I am very sad that it came to this.
